Dear CONNEXT friends,
I have some exciting news to share.
You probably remember my message in which I announced that we were postponing CONNEXT to October next year. We still hope that we will be able to organise CONNEXT 2021 in Antwerp.
In the meantime, however, plans for a virtual edition of CONNEXT are slowly shaping up. It’s an initiative we started to develop following feedback we received from a lot of CONNEXT regulars.
The online edition of CONNEXT is called RE>CONNEXT and will be launched on 4 October, the day the on-site edition was supposed to kick off.
RE>CONNEXT promises to be larger than ever, with more projects (fiction and non-fiction, feature-length and serials) being presented. All presentations will remain accessible until the end of October, allowing you to explore and connect at your own pace.
As in previous years, RE>CONNEXT is aimed at professionals interested in exciting new content from Flanders and Brussels, such as sales agents, buyers, commissioning editors, broadcasters, streamers, as well as festival curators.
For the very first time, and in close collaboration with Screen Flanders, we will also invite a number of co-producers and co-financiers interested in the territory to take part.
We do hope that we will be able to count you among the participants. More information is to follow in the months to come.
As we do value your feedback, we hope you will continue sending us your ideas and suggestions.
At the end of this message, and also on behalf of the Flanders Image team, I would like to again send our heartfelt get well wishes to both friends and loyal supporters who are ill or in the process of recovering as well as express our profound condolences to those who have lost loved ones in this nightmare.
We hope to welcome you in a virtual way at RE>CONNEXT. Until then, stay healthy and look after each other. Stay safe!
Christian De Schutter & Team Flanders
