Created in 1989, Flanders Image is the audiovisual export agency for Flanders and Brussels, Belgium.
Flanders Image is in charge of the promotion of audiovisual creations made in Flanders and Brussels, Belgium. It is the sole official representative of Flanders’ content and talent at all key international festivals and markets. It is not, however, a sales or talent agency.
Flanders Image produces publications, both online and in print, informs curators and buyers, runs market and festival booths, etc. Together with third parties, it explores emerging markets and new and improved ways of presenting audiovisual creations.
Screener.be is a promotional VOD platform dedicated to audiovisual creations made in Flanders and Brussels, Belgium. It is aimed at giving foreign film professionals interested in selecting or acquiring Flemish content easy access.
Since 2016, Flanders Image has organized CONNEXT, an annual platform where local film and TV-makers pitch new projects, present works- in-progress and show recently completed features, documentaries and series to a select group of international festival curators, sales agents, distributors, commissioning editors, etc.
Flanders Image is also the point of contact for coverage of Flemish content by domestic and international press and media outlets.
Flanders Image is part of the Flanders Audiovisual Fund (VAF), and is also involved in the promotion of the economic fund Screen Flanders. It is supported by the Flanders Government and by Brussels Export. Preferential partners are Cinematek and Kinamo. It is one of the founding members of European Film Promotion.
